Here at Bright Stars day nursery we recognise that the children’s needs and safety are principal and take priority over all other considerations. We aspire to provide a stimulating, caring and safe environment for all the children in our care. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework from the Department for Children, Schools and Families and will offer developmentally appropriate activities and education inside and outdoors, taking into account the needs of individual children. We work closely in partnerships with parents/carers and will offer support and guidance to all parents and families.

We also work closely with other professionals and have close links with local schools and local community.

History

The nursery before us was previously called Playtime day Nursery, We took the building over in 2013 and made Bright stars day nursery ltd.

We have since improved areas of the building especially in our outstanding baby room. The garden and room have had extensive work done leading it to become a warm, friendly and caring environment for the 6 babies that we cater for daily.

The Garden has had Astroturf laid down and inside a carpet area specifically in place for the babies to crawl and play on. The toddlers and pre school rooms have also had areas sectioned defining the areas of play. The preschool garden has a mud kitchen, bike area, obstacle course, climbing frame and maths and literacy areas too.

Special Needs

At Bright Stars we aim to provide all the children with a happy, stimulating and secure environment. We believe that all children are citizens and have rights and entitlements.

All children should be treated fairly and with respect regardless of their culture, religion family background or abilities. We provide quality and consistency in our setting so that every child makes good progress and no child gets left behind. We aim to identify children with Special educational needs (SEN) as early as possible (through observation and assessment) so that their needs can be met as early as possible. Parents will be consulted and will be asked to contribute to the child’s learning journey through planning and individual support plans. Any child whom we may feel may need some extra support will be a priority. Staff will speak with the parents and also seek permission for any steps to take forward. Progress will be shared regularly and any possible concerns will be dealt with straight away. We provide a range of differentiated activities and resources that all children are encouraged to use and explore so that all children can join in.

Upon the child’s enrolment form we ask that parents give us all the information we will need and if any other agencies have/will be involved with the child, we do this for good, clear, consistent communication and regular updates on the child. We understand that every child will have their own personalised learning journey and that all children will have individual needs and talents.
